Was appointed as the inaugural Head of the LafargeHolcim Foundation for Sustainable Construction, established 2003.
Edward Schwarz was a journalist and editor of a Swiss trade magazine for the construction industry before joining a daily newspaper covering the greater Zurich area. He was then appointed editor-in-chief of a private radio station in the same region.
From 1992, he was in charge of communications of a building materials holding company that was later integrated into the Holcim Group. He subsequently became Head of Corporate Communications for the united operations of Holcim in Switzerland. From 1998, Edward Schwarz was the Head of Internal and Online Communications of the Holcim Group, in addition to taking a leading role in developing and implementing the global brand.
The LafargeHolcim Foundation selects and supports initiatives that combine sustainable construction solutions with architectural excellence and enhanced quality of life beyond technical solutions. Its international Awards is the most significant global competition for sustainable design, recognizing innovative projects and future-oriented concepts. The 6th competition offering prize money of USD 2 million will open for entries in June 2019 at www.lafargeholcim-foundation.org
