Architect, Kuryłowicz & Associates

Elżbieta Szymańska - a graduate of the Faculty of Architecture at the Warsaw University of Technology and Managerial Economics at the Warsaw School of Economics. She has been working in the architectural industry since 2012, and since 2017 she has been working at Kuryłowicz & Associates, where she currently holds the role of creative leader. In 2023, she obtained a unrestricted architectural design licence.

She specialises in projects that combine the diverse functions of urban spaces, including mixed-use complexes, revitalisations or masterplans. She co-authored projects such as Nordic Bemowo, nominated for the Architectural Prize of the Mayor of Warsaw, the LOI 130 office and retail complex in Brussels or the DUGA mixed-use complex in Belgrade. She is a winner of both Polish and international architectural competitions.

She considers the adaptation of existing buildings to be a particularly interesting challenge for contemporary architecture. Such projects make it possible to show successive layers of history, linking the past with the future. They preserve the spirit of the place while introducing a new quality that responds to changing social and cultural needs.
